Unlawful Detainer Assistant Registration Requirements

Business and Professions Code 6400-6415

An Unlawful Detainer Assistant (UDA) Registration is required of any entity who for compensation renders assistance or advice for members of the public who are representing themselves in an unlawful detainer matter.

Corporate officer or general partner appearing in person must present the following:

A valid government issued identification

A bond naming the corporation/partnership as principal, providing the term of two (2) years, must include commencement date and expiration date, must state it is in favor of Riverside County, and shall be in the amount of:

  • $25,000 for 1-4 UDAs
  • $50,000 for 5-9 UDAs
  • $100,000 for 10 or more UDA

Must not be disqualified to register based on the information provided on the application, pursuant to:

  • Civil Judgment-BPC 6403(c)(3) & (c)(5)
  • Criminal Convictions-BPC 6403(c)(2) & (c)(4)
  • Registration Revocations-BPC 6403(c)(6)
  • Suspension or Disbarment-BPC 6402

Principal place of business or residential address must be located in the County of Riverside (deemed primary registration), and in any other county in which he or she performs acts for which registration is required (deemed secondary registration)

Signatures required:

If a Corporation, application must be signed by:

  • Chairman of the Board or
  • President or
  • Vice President and
  • Secretary
  • Assistant Secretary
  • Chief Financial Officer
  • Assistant Treasurer
  • If a Partnership, application must be signed by:
  • At least one general partner

Corporation/Partnership Unlawful Detainer Assistant (UDA) Registration Fee: $196.00
(includes recording/filing fee of a single-sided, single-page bond but may vary)
Each additional page of the bond: $3.00
Replacement identification card: $10.00
